SeeNoSun OnStage - The Art of Darkness


Mission Statement:
SeeNoSun OnStage is a Washington DC 501(c)3 non-profit theater company dedicated to education, writing and performance in the horror and suspense genre.  Our mission is to create a compelling theatrical experience that expands an understanding of the human condition by bringing provocative plays to life that explore the human monster and the unspeakable acts they commit.

We have been accepted as a Washington-area professional theatre organization with theatreWashington by the Helen Hayes Awards Board of Governors and are eligible for full awards consideration in 2016/17.


SeeNoSun has also been awarded a 2017 project grant from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities that will partially fund our production of Doubt; A Parable.

Michael Wright - Artistic Director 

Michael is a Director, Playwright and Actor and the founding Artistic Director of SeeNoSun OnStage.  After rebuilding Molotov Theatre Group, where he served as Co-Artistic Director (September 2012 to February 2014), he returned to SeeNoSun OnStage, a theater company that he established in 2010.  

SeeNoSun's 2015 production of Bug cemented Michael's reputation as a director with an unflinching artistic integrity who takes a fearless approach to the thought provoking work he brings to the stage. Other directing credits include a 2014 production of Killer Joe that also received critical acclaim.  In 2013, he directed Extremities for Molotov Theatre. Michael wrote, produced and directed The Extermination Machine in 2012 which drew rave reviews at the Capital Fringe Festival. He produced and directed Edmund White's Terre Haute for SeeNoSun at the 2010 Fringe. He also directed House of America for the Welsh Reading Series (performed at Studio Theatre) for the 2009 Smithsonian Folklife Festival.  As an Actor, this Equity Membership Candidate originated the role of Policeman #2 in Tom Stoppard's Rock n Roll at Studio Theatre where he also studied directing under Joy Zinoman.
